A special girl got a special welcome!
No.1 hit boy band surprise a big fan at Great Ormond Street Hospital
Top British boy band Blue dropped in to surprise a teenage fan at Great Ormond Street Hospital on Monday night, in a special visit arranged by her parents.
The Blue boys took time out of their busy schedule to chat with 15-year-old Holly Edwards who has adored the band since they first hit the charts. The teenager, who has cerebral palsy, has spent the last year using a wheelchair. But, she plans to take her first few steps soon following surgery at GOS to improve her ability to walk in the future.
When they arrived, the R&B quartet made a beeline for Holly’s bed and presented her with a giant cuddly toy rabbit. Holly was completely taken by surprise and said:
"When I first noticed them I felt myself go red and was absolutely stunned. They were really nice and chatty and want to be kept up to date on my progress. Lee even gave me his denim jacket as a souvenir."
Holly’s parents were also delighted by the visit. Her mother Caroline, added:
"We’re absolutely over the moon that Blue have found time to visit Holly and made her feel on such a high. We’re so glad that she’s happy. This will help to aid her recovery period one hundred percent."
During their visit, as well as posing for photos with their biggest fan Blue also met and chatted with the other children on the ward. Nursing staff and parents were impressed with the length of time they spent with each child on the ward.
